FAQ

Questions

  • Q. What is Grace?

Quite simply Grace is the freely given, unmerited favor, and love of God. It is the influence of the Spirit of God operating in humans to regenerate or strengthen them. Grace is not a license to sin, but God’s provision to not only save, but to keep us from sin (Titus 2:11).

  • Q: Can I really be set free from sin?

Yes you can, thirty years ago I was a drug addict of the lowest order. I had a fifteen hundred dollar a day cocaine habit. The day I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins, save my soul, and set me free He did so immediately. His word promises in John 8:36, “he whom the Son sets free is free indeed.” The Apostle Paul wrote to us in Romans 6:22 “ but now having been set free from sin ,and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.” The angel told Joseph that Jesus would come to save people from their sins. John wrote us again in I John 2:1”little children these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” I’m not saying you will not live a sinless life, however, I am saying sin shall not have dominion over you. A life of liberty, peace and joy in Jesus is possible, but you must repent of you excuses and allow Him to cleanse you and start fresh, you can be free in Jesus name.

  • Q: What is a Christian in the modern world in which we live?

To call one a Christian too many people simply means I am not Muslim or Jewish or any pantheon of other religions. However, in the early church they did not refer to themselves as Christians, but they were given that name by others first, at Antioch. I wonder if the American church of today is living a life that would cause others to identify them with acting like Jesus. My question has always been, is there enough evidence in your daily life to gain a conviction in a court of law for you behaving like Jesus, if not we have a severe problem.
Jesus Christ demands more allegiance than any dictator who ever walked the face of the earth, yet loves more than our human mind can comprehend. How could we withhold anything in our lives from one who exemplified love in such a manner? I could offer you a long theological dissertation on what it takes to become a Christian, but quite simply Jesus himself said, “You must be born again.”

The Apostle Paul wrote in II Corinthians 5:17 “therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature and old things are passed away and behold all things have become new.” Has this been your experience? Are you dead to sin and alive to righteousness as is written in Romans 6 and 11? Are you walking in the Spirit and not fulfilling the lust of the flesh? To call Jesus Lord, which means quite simply Master, if He is not the supreme ruler over our lives by love something is amiss.

  • Q: What is the gospel?

Simply speaking it means good news. The good news is I was born in sin and shaped in iniquity and deserving of a devil’s hell, but God so loved the world that He gave His only Son to die in my place for my sins. To set me free from the penalty of sin and the power of sin.
